KS4 Portfolio Advice
Welcome, future digital designers! We're excited to see your creative work. Follow the advice below to create and upload your PowerPoint portfolio as part of your application. Your portfolio can include up to 8 pieces of your best work in digital and graphic design.
Here are some examples of what you can include:
-
Drawings and Illustrations: Drawings or illustrations you've made digitally using software like Photoshop, Illustrator, or apps on your phone/tablet; or traditionally using pencils, paints, etc.
-
Graphic Design: Posters, flyers, or any graphic design projects you've created.
-
Animations: Short animations or GIFs you've created.
-
Photo Edits: Before and after photos showing your photo editing skills.
-
Logos and Branding: Logos, business cards, or branding projects.
-
Concept or Digital Art: Any other digital art pieces that show your creativity and skills.
We’re looking for potential, not perfection, so feel free to include works in progress. Traditional artworks are welcome, as we know not everyone has access to digital softwares at school or home.
Tips for a Great Portfolio:
-
Be Creative: Show your unique style and creativity.
-
Be Clear: Make sure your descriptions are clear and easy to understand.
-
Be Neat: Ensure your slides are well-organised and free of clutter.
-
Check Your Work: Look over your portfolio for any mistakes before you upload it.
Please title your Portfolio Powerpoint as Firstname_Lastname_Portfolio_Strand_Year
-
For example, Megan Stokes applying for IDD Year 10 submitting a Portfolio Presentation would submit: MeganStokesPortfolioIDDYr10.pptx
Please note, from 2024 we are no longer able to accept websites or URL submissions – only Powerpoint or PDF files are able to be uploaded.
Good luck! We can't wait to see your work. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask our admissions team by email at admissions@brit.croydon.sch.uk. Happy designing!
